AL MONTAZAH PARK
Al Montazah Park is located in Alexandria, Egypt, and it
includes two palaces: El Salamlek & Al Haramlik, both surrounded by royal
gardens looking out on the Mediterranean Sea.
EL Salamlek palace was constructed
by Khedive Abbas II in 1892
during his reign to the Hungarian noble Marianna Torok whom he married after.
In 1932, king Foad built a larger palace, which is Al Haramlik next to El Salamlek
palace and added the royal gardens.
Al Haramlik served as a summer palace and was forged on the Turkish and Florentine styles. Each
floor included open arcades with a sea view.
After a while, President Anwar El-Sadat renewed the
original Salamlek Palace as an official presidential residence. Unfortunately,
the palace is not available for the public, only
the royal gardens is open for visitors.
