THE UNFINISHED OBELISK
The unfinished obelisk is situated in a quarry in Aswan.
The obelisk is considered a sacred symbol of the cult of the sun in the temples
of Ra. It was established during the reign of Hatshepsut, the queen of Thutmose
II, deemed to be the largest and heaviest obelisk in ancient Egypt.
