Valley of the Queens

The Valley of the Queens ,one of the archaeological sites in Egypt , LuxorWhich dates back to the era of the Pharaohs and the place where they buried their queens, It was known as Wadi al-Jamal or Naqqo,The Valley of the Queens contains at least 98 tombs that belonged to 18, 19 and 20 queens of the families, there are four tombs open for view, one of the most amazing tomb is nefertari, the principal wife of Ramesses the Great. She was a respected woman in ancient egyptian times. She was well educated and was able to read and write hieroglyphs, which was a rare skill. Nefertari acted as a diplomat, using her reading and writing skills to correspond with other world leaders and royals of the period.
